Business Houses League
The Business Houses League comprised a number of teams from various businesses and organisations mostly in the Dublin region. For this information we thank Jim Kenny, a member of Aer Lingus chess club, the only remaining team from this time still in operation in 2025/26, although some teams may still exist under different names. Teams in the Business Houses League competed for the Falcon Trophy between 1973 or 1979 and 1987. These teams are listed below [Order?]. According to an Aer Lingus 1972/73 report the league was conceived by their treasurer Tony Brady. Incidentally, their membership fee then was £1.50.
